Jeri Bjornson has been appointed by Winnipeg Presbytery as the Interim Minister at Sturgeon Creek United Church for a term from July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2012.
She comes to us with extensive experience in the church as a lay person and latterly, as Ministry Personnel. Since 2001, Jeri has been practicing Interim Ministry. She has extensive experience in the Courts of the church including chairing General Council task groups, Assiniboine Presbytery and a term as the President of the Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.
Prior to beginning her work as a Lay Pastoral Minister [Designated Lay Minister], Jeri worked for several years with women’s groups in Manitoba, including as Co-ordinator of the Charter of Rights Coalition (Manitoba).
In 1991, Jeri received the YM-YWCA Woman of Distinction Award for her work advancing the status of women. She has three adult children and two grandchildren.
